Memorials
Please note the churchyard is still in use for burials and should be respected as such. There is a sung communion service is held at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. In February the churchyard is covered in a carpet of Snowdrops.
The Memorial Inscription numbers (e.g. MI 119) refer to survey work undertaken by the Northamptonshire Family History Society (NFHS) in May 2003, who have kindly allowed us to use their plan of the churchyard.

Military.
The Cross of Sorrow (erected 1920) stands on mound to the east of the Church. A plaque under the east window has five names from WW1 and one from WW2, MI 185a.
On the eastern tower wall is a war memorial (erected 1980) to the 305th Bomb Group (Heavy) USAAF who were based at RAF Chelveston during WW2, MI 169.
Flt Sgt C.W.Auld (R/98159) Royal Canadian Air Force [1929-1942]. Son of Charles & Delia Auld, of Chicago, IL, USA. Like many Americans pre-1942, he crossed the border into Canada in order to volunteer to serve in the war, and was a tail gunner on a Wellington Bomber which crashed at Old, Northants, MI 119.

Arthur Reu Birtchnell [1921-1981], landlord of the Star & Garter in 1971, MI 112.
Andrew Leighton [1795-1868], land agent to Sir E.C.Disbrowe for 35 years, MI 193.
Miss Mary Helen (“Pollie”) Simspon MBE d.1947, Churchwarden, sportswoman and first President of the Chelveston W.I. MI 32.
Fredrick Childs Meadows [1879-1935], shopkeeper & sub-postmaster, MI 103.
George Arthur Tilley [1900-1940], landlord of the Star & Garter in 1931, MI 137.
George Wyldes [1846-1931], farmer and founder of the Wyldes’s charity, MI 172.
