In 2007, both Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire County Councils carried out public consultations of the future strategy and locations for mineral excavations and waste processing facilities in their respective counties.
For Chelveston, the proposals that most affect the parish are the two “halves” of the former airfield site, identified as WA8 (for NCC) and WSD33 (for BCC).
In both cases it had been put forward for handling 150,000 tonnes annually of non-inert waste (i.e. not landfill).

The MWDF Preferred Options consultation generated over 1,400 responses (mainly site specific), with approx 337 objections to WA8 (Chelveston). |
